New Director Information


The Robbinsdale City Band is looking for a new director.
The Robbinsdale City Band is an all-volunteer community band that exists to share the joy of music with as wide an audience as possible. Currently there are three different ensembles performing concerts in area parks, care centers and numerous other concert venues, as well as marching in parades and participating in other community celebrations. The band seeks to provide a musical performing outlet for its members and musical enjoyment and good-will for our audiences and community. The Band is supported by the City of Robbinsdale and donations.

The Robbinsdale City Band Director will provide leadership, direction and perform various duties relating to the supervision of a community band. This includes coordinating band rehearsals, selecting appropriate music, scheduling performances, managing music resources, recruiting new members, retaining current members, budgeting, fund raising and public relations. The individual must be able to work independently to accomplish tasks without direct supervision. Practices and performances are on Thursday evenings throughout the year. Position averages 5-10 hours per week. Starting salary range is $5000-6000 per year. This position reports to the Recreation Services Manager.
